Donald Trump's Facebook Account Suspended for 2 Years; Action was taken for the first time in January in the case of inciting violence.
Facebook has suspended the account of former US President Donald Trump for two years. The time period of two years will be reckoned from January 7, 2021. Trump's account was suspended for the first time on the same day. Facebook Vice President (Global Affairs) Nick Clegg gave this information through a blog post on Friday.
Violence broke out outside the US Parliament Capitol Hill on January 6, following the results of the US presidential election. During this, Trump was accused of provoking his supporters. Due to this, the next day i.e. on January 7, other social media platforms including Facebook took action against Trump. Facebook's own company Instagram also suspended Trump's account. On the other hand, Twitter has banned Trump forever.
Trump's response also came after the action of social media companies in January. He had said that next time he would not invite CEOs of social media companies to dinner. Trump had said that there will no longer be dinner at the White House with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife. They will only talk about business. After this Zuckerberg said in a post that allowing the President to use our services is a very big risk at this time.
